Perfect for borders or containers, Height: 15-20cm (6-8") Hardy perennial often treated as half hardy annual or hardy biennial Notes: Flowering time depending on sowing time WHEN TO SOW February to March or June to September WHERE TO SOW On the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place at a temperature between 15-20°C (59-68°F). Do not exclude light as this helps germination which is usually 14-21 days. Too high a temperature can prevent germination. WHAT TO DO NEXT When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 23cm (9") apart, or plant into containers. Overwinter September sowings in a cold frame then plant out the following spring. Flowers November to September depending on sowing time.
