Easy to grow and the light green foliage and delicate sky blue flowers make a beautiful sight in spring. Height 20cm (8") Notes: flowers following year WHEN TO SOW April to June WHERE TO SOW Sow seed on the surfae of the compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of dry vermiculite or finely sieved compost. Place the seed and tray in a warm place around 15-20°C (59-68°F) until the seeds germinate. This can take 14-30 days. Alternatively sow outside in a well prepared nursery bed 1cm (1/2") deep in rows 30cm (12") apart. WHAT TO DO NEXT When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out 15cm (6") apart in a sunny or semi shaded border. FLOWERS April onwards the following year. HANDY TIP Very tolerant of any soil, sun or shade but they do not like to dry out at the roots.
