Tall elegant spikes of mainly semi-double blooms in a superb range of colours. Plant at the back of border for a real cottage garden spectacular look. Harmful if eaten. Hardy perennial Height up to 180cm (70”) WHERE TO SOW Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place at a temperature of between 10-15°C (50-59°F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination which can take 21-40 days. WHAT TO DO NEXT When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out 60cm (24”) apart in a sunny, sheltered site. HANDY TIP In colder areas cover plants with compost to give some frost protection. A favourite of slugs and snails so protect if necessary.
