Tagetes Starfire

The range of colours in this selection defies description with golds, yellows and mahogany with bi-colours, zonings and splashes. A truly delightful mixture.Mound like plant habit and the feathery foliage is covered in small single flowers. Height 25-30cm. WHEN TO SOW February to April WHERE TO SOW Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a temperature of between 20-25°C (68-77°F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination which usually takes 10-21 days. WHAT TO DO NEXT When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost. 30cm (12") apart or plant into baskets and containers filled with a good quality potting compost. MATURITY June onwards HANDY TIP The plants give off a lovely fragrance when the foliage is brushed. Plant near a path edge to brush passing legs.
