Mustard Agricultural White is one of the fastest growing green manures. It is susceptible to clubroot so do not use where this is a problem. Dig in before flowering, which can be as little as 3-4 weeks to add humus to the soil. Improve your soil fertility, increase the humus content, improve the structure of the soil or simply blanket the bare soil and suppress weed growth whilst the ground is not in use.
WHEN TO SOW March to September.
HOW TO SOW Broadcast at 4gm per square metre or in shallow rows 15cm apart.
GROWING TIME 4 weeks.
SOIL TYPE Reasonably moist and fertile soil
DIGGING IN Any time before flowering.
COVERAGE 25 square metres. 1 ROD - 5.5 x 5.5 sq. yds. = 30.25 sq. yds. or 25.3 sq.m.
COMMENTS Probably the easiest and quickest subject but it is susceptible to clubroot.
